About HonestER
Important: every wait time and rating on this site is self-reported by patients, anonymously, through our form. None of it is collected from hospitals, walk-in clinics, or provincial health authorities, and it hasn't been verified against official records. Treat it as a helpful estimate from other patients, not an official source.
Why wait times aren't first-come, first-served
Canadian emergency rooms use the CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) to assess how urgent each patient's condition is. A patient with a life-threatening issue is seen before someone with a minor injury, regardless of who arrived first. That's why two people can arrive at the same time and have very different waits — it isn't a mistake, it's triage doing its job.
What we collect
- Check-in and seen-by-doctor times
- A broad age bracket and general reason for visit (not a diagnosis)
- Star ratings for the facility and, optionally, for the doctor or nurse you saw
We never ask for your name, contact info, health card number, or specific diagnosis.
Keeping the data honest
Submissions go through basic automated checks (like making sure times are realistic) and rate limits to make bulk or fake submissions harder, without requiring any personal information to do it.
